For $85,000, there's no new car I'd rather have.

I know how you feel. I would really like to have a big expensive car, but alas no money. For me it is the M-B E550 Coupe Blue with Blue leather, why blue is the best color and it is a freaking hardtop!

I have a couple different ones I wouldn't mind picking up instead and save a bit of money in the process.

$85k? That's like, twenty Miatas.

I see only one problem with this, and it's name is CTS V-Sport. $10,000 less and better looking IMO.
I just can't get behind this new styling Maserati is doing. Something about it looks off in my eyes.

$85K?
Meh
For that money I could get an Audi R8 V8 with a gated shifter
Adding that my M3 would make me King of the Asshatlandia, haha
EDIT: sorry I missed the part where you said "new"
These "new" cars are foreign to me. I forget they exist.

I like this car but hate every driver of every one I've seen on the road.
I dunno why but every time I'm on the road and someone is driving this car (or the regular version of it) the driver decides to tailgate me, cut me off, or stare me down and try to get me to race. It's like they see a smaller performance car and think "fuck you buddy, I have a giant Audi"

I didn't even see the "new" text. I just saw the price tag and my mind immediately yelled "R8 with gated shifter, R8 with gate shifter!", haha.
Which kind of says something - nobody should buy a new car for that much, ever. There are sooooooo many cool things you can buy used for that price.

But I still haven't heard what you'd buy for $85k new.

Haha I didn't even think about it once I realized I was doing this wrong. That's how anti-new my mind is.
Hmm. Gotta think about this. I've literally never even considered buying a new car at that price point. All of my current cars were used. The last time I got a new car was when I leased an E Class through work. That was probably a $50K car

I think the answer has to be the best C7 you can get for $85K
$85K doesn't get you enough new Porsche these days
The cars you posted don't come in stick and the Alfa is underpowered for the money regardless of how light it is (or isn't...)

If I was looking for a new car with a stick I'd probably go M3 or C7. But ALFA OVER EVERYTHING.
I'm a very big Alfa fan, in case you haven't noticed after all of these thousands of comments we've exchanged.

OMG your Dad should just not get a car then and wait!
I just thought of the perfect 4C analogy. It's a good modern car and it's an Alfa in the same way that the Ferrari 360 Modena was a good modern Ferrari. But it wasn't a great car (sorry Doug!).
I feel like the 4C's replacement will be the one to get. The chassis is already built. The revised one will have more power and an improved suspension. It was be like the F430 was to the 360...

Just like the 650S was the MP4-12C, perfected!
But I think the higher end sports car will sell alongside the 4C and cost over $100k.
Goddammit I want a 4C so bad.

Agreed, today I wandered into a strangely shaped metal box imprinted with the words "Audi." Within the sheets of metal and glass, a smooth talking salesman with slicked back hair welcomed me, and offered me this thing called a "Test Drive." I was dazed, I was confused. Was he just about to let me enjoy the benefits of an automobile for no price? Or was this a trap? Does this so called "Complimentary coffee" contain arsenic? Are they here to get me? What are these new four wheeled creatures with reverse cameras and remote start? I suspiciously smiled, and agreed to his conditions of signing the paperwork. With the very name imprinted on his "buisness card." I admired the low mileage, 1,000. I had never seen these low amounts of "Mileage." Then I noticed something, he had entered the vehicle with me. I blinded him with my mag light, and jumped back into my 1997 A4. Those creatures exist; "New cars."

I dunno where it comes from. I swear I don't instigate. I'm so scared of tickets that I'm normally driving super mellow. I don't want my insurance premiums to go up...
Manuél Ferrari
> Brian Silvestro
06/12/2014 at 22:37 | 0 |
Exactly! Except the 12C was a much better starting point than the 360 was. The 12C was fast compared to the competition of the time. Now the 650S is just crazy fast. I don't think the 360 was even considered that fast when it launched...
I want to see the new Alfa NOW. Why can't it be a thing already?

I ate leftovers from last night. And the food from last night was the Opposite of hipster food. I tried out a one man show BBQ place that was located in a sketchy part of the next town over from mine. I actually felt kind of unsafe in the 997, lol
